ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has decided to deploy traffic police contingents at important places, shopping centres and main markets for Eid shopping activities.
During the next two days, Eid shopping activities would reach its peak in the capital city and special traffic police squads would be deployed in the various parts of the city according to the plan, according to police sources. Senior Superintendent Police (Traffic) Islamabad Malik Matloob has issued a traffic plan, deputing police contingents in important places, shopping centres and main markets to ensure a smooth flow of the traffic.
The SSP has also constituted special squads to maintain traffic flow in the capital and a detailed deployment plan has been issued to control traffic in the city. He had directed staffers to take strict action against one-wheeling, racing and bikes and vehicles without silencers.
More than 100 cops from the Islamabad Traffic Police, including one superintendent, 3 DSPs, 11 inspectors and 50 sub-inspectors would perform duties at important shopping centres from 6 pm onwards.
More than 20 vehicles lifters had been provided to ITP’s cops while its help unit (1915) would perform its duty round the clock. Malik Matloob also appealed to the citizens to demonstrate a responsible attitude and also directed officials to take strict action against transporters who caused inconvenience for citizens.
