ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Saturday refused entry to an Afghan national, Deria Khan – who was holding dual nationality of Afghanistan and UK – at the Benazir Bhutto International Airport, Islamabad.
He was traveling from Kuwait by the Qatar Airways. Earlier in December 2009, he was declared blacklisted.
According to sources, the Afghan national was declared inadmissible and he was denied entry by the Federal Investigation Agency, which later handed him over to the airlines staff for sending him back to the port of origin by the same aircraft.
Earlier, Mathew Barret, a US citizen, who was declared persona non grata, was apprehended by FIA smartly at the Benazir Bhutto International Airport. Sources said an enquiry has been launched to probe the role of officials allegedly involved in issuing visa to a person, who had already been declared blacklisted.
